At CREDS, we’re building a robust marketplace to connect skilled independent contractors with construction and property management projects, and this article brilliantly captures that mission. While we’re incredibly excited about the future of CREDS, we want to set clear expectations: our comprehensive platform is still in development. We’re taking a thoughtful, phased approach to ensure each component is thoroughly tested and refined before launching the full CREDS framework.

In our first phase, we’re focusing on the tradesperson side of our marketplace, with a particular emphasis on compliance for independent contractors. In Minnesota, a 14-factor test ensures workers are correctly classified as independent contractors, preventing mislabeling employees as contractors. We’re embedding this test into the CREDS tradesperson profile, allowing workers to provide information and upload documents to validate compliance. This will later integrate into our scope of work agreements in future phases.

Currently, we’re building a "bullpen" of qualified independent contractors across various trade categories. As tradespeople complete their profiles, they’re participating in dozens of test scopes of work, helping us refine our approach to compliance before moving to the next phase.
